Background of the issue:
I am trying to add strings for string translation using the WPML plugin. My workflow is as follows:
1. Goto Admin > WPML > String Translation
2. Scroll down to the "Utilities" section
3. In the "Auto register untranslated strings" section, I check the "Untranslated strings that I encounter when logged in" (but I've also tried this using the "Untranslated strings that all logged in, logged out users, and site visitors encounter") and click "Save Settings"
4. Then I visit the page where I have my new strings wrapped in the Localization code. (See attached "localization code.png" for the code I'm using -- you can see I'm trying to add words to the "marshberry" string translation domain.)
5. When I refresh the String Translations list, filtered to show the "marshberry" domain, none of the words have been added for translation.
Symptoms:
The auto register untranslated strings functionality is not working. I expected to see the new words for translation, but instead they weren't there.
Questions:
Why is the auto register untranslated strings functionality not working?
How can I ensure the new words for translation appear as expected?
