Dieses Thema ist gelöst. Hier finden Sie eine Beschreibung des Problems und der Lösung.

Problem:
Ich versuche: Today it occurred for the first time that a translation from a German post into English doesn't show up (404 error). It is possible to complete the translation, and the English post is visible as long as I am logged in to WordPress. But when I am logged out I get 404 error instead of the translation. This also happens with any new post I tried to publish and translate.
Old posts with translations do still work.

URL der/meiner Website, auf der das Problem auftritt: The post in German: https://www.wiva.at/2023/07/10/nachbericht-erfa-wasserstofflogistik/

Erwartet hatte ich zu sehen: I expected the English translation as usual

Stattdessen bekam ich: 404 error

Thx in advance!

Solution:
As the translated page was not showing for the non-logged-in users, I suspected that the page was saved in draft. The issue gets resolved by changing the status to published. Please check this response: https://wpml.org/de/forums/topic/translated-post-leads-tot-404-error/#post-14018583

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support. I will be glad to assist you in this matter.

The German forum is experiencing a high volume of tickets at this time, so I opted to respond to you in English. Please let me know if you're okay with it or want me to assign it to my German-speaking colleague. I will be happy to do that.

I understood the issue you're having with a Translated post. Maybe the Translated post is saved in Draft which is why, it is visible to Admin only. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps to solve the issue.

- Please change the language to English from the language Switcher on the Top bar of the WordPress Admin.
- Navigate to the "Posts > All Posts" section.
- Locate the translated Post that gives a 404 page to the Non Logged in user.
- Click on "Quick edit".
- Make sure the `Status` of the post is set to "Published".
- After that, Go to the "Settings > Permalinks" section.
- Set the Permalink Structure to "Post name" and save the changes.

Clear the caches and then check from incognito window of Browser. I hope it will help.

Please let me know how it goes. If you need further assistance, I will be happy to help.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit
