Hintergrund des Themas:
I translated the images on my website using the WPML Media Translation plugin. However, the translated images do not show up. Instead, only the original images are shown - also in the translated version of the website. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: versteckter Link
Die Symptome:
Translated images do not show up; only the original images are displayed in the translated version of the website.
Fragen:
Why are the translated images not displaying on the translated version of the website?
How can I ensure that the translated images appear correctly?
Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you are waiting for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with first debugging steps or if I can perhaps help with the issue quickly.
Make sure to have a full website backup and perform the following steps:
1. Make sure that WPML Media Translation is installed and active;
2. Make a small change to the original home page's content. You can add a blank space into a text, for example;
3. Go to WPML > Translation Management;
4. Select the home page and the images you wish to translate with it (when selecting the home page in the list, the images should show up to be selected as well);
5. Send it to translation;
6. Update the translation and save;
Is that solves the issue for the home page, you can perform it for other pages that have the same problem as well.
If that does not help, one of my colleagues will soon come to continue support.
I've taken over this ticket and will be happy to assist you further with this matter.
When using Media Translation, the translated image will only appear on the frontend of the translated page depending on how the image was originally added to the default page. If the image was added using an image tag (`<img>`), you will need to translate the image URL directly in the Translation Editor. In such cases, translating the image via Media Translation alone won’t suffice.
While translating the page or post containing the image, the image URL will appear in the Advanced Translation Editor. To locate it, type "HTTP" into the search box, as instructed in this guide, and then translate the link accordingly.
However, if the image is added using the default Gutenberg Image block or an Elementor widget, the image translated via Media Translation should appear correctly on the translated page. In this case, the image is retrieved through the WPML hook, ensuring it displays properly in each language.
If you've added the image using the default Gutenberg block and still don't see the image correctly in each language, you should check by updating the translation of the page. If the issue persists even after that, you can try the following steps:
- Please go to "WPML > Support > Troubleshooting"
- Select "Media" from the dropdown under cleanup and click on 'Synchronize Post taxonomies' button.
- Clear the caches from your site and browser and then check again.
Please try and let me know the update. I will be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.
