Sagen Sie uns, was Sie versuchen zu erreichen?
The Links "Visit thermal bath" and "Resort vacation" are not beeing pointed to the corresponding translated version of the german (default langauge) page.
versteckter Link
Links on the hungarian version are also not pointed to the correct translated version of the page

Gibt es ein ähnliches Beispiel, das wir sehen können?
versteckter Link
Also links inside of text areas are not pointed. Is there any way to do this automatically or do we have to change every links inside of text areas manually?

We also already tried the "translate lilnks" button under wpml->settings

Was ist der Link zu Ihrer Website?

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support. I will try my best to assist you in this matter.

Currently, we have a limited number of German-speaking supporters and for that reason, I took this ticket and responded in English. Please let me know if you're okay with it or want me to forward this ticket to one of my German speaking colleagues. I will be happy to do that for you.

If you've added an internal page/post link to any other page/post, that internal link should be updated automatically in other languages depending on the availability of the translation. So, kindly make sure that the internal page/post, that you're linking to another page/post is already translated into other languages and the translations are not saved in 'Draft'.

I'd also like to suggest that when linking to a post/page, use the relative URL format instead of the full URL. For instance, when linking to the "contact" page, rather than using 'versteckter Link', simply use '/contact'. Using the relative URL format often resolves issues related to links pointing incorrectly in other languages.

You can check this article to know more about the URL formats: versteckter Link

After updating the URL format, make sure to update the translation as well.

Please check and let me know the update. I will be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

All of our translations are published as you can see here:
German Version: versteckter Link
English Version: versteckter Link

The internal Link on the main page still links to the german version.

How do i exactly check if an translation is safed in "Draft"? Or do you mean the post?

Thanks for your help,
Best Regards,

Hello There,

I meant the entire post-translation. To check if the Translated post/page is saved in "draft" or not, here are the steps:

- Switch to a secondary language from the WordPress dashboard.
- Navigate to the Page/post section.
- If a post/page is saved in Draft, that will be denoted as "Draft".
- To publish that, click on "Quick Edit" and set the "Status" of that post/page to "Published"

Since the links are not pointing to the correct page, please follow the steps below and check if that helps to solve the issue.

- Open this post(versteckter Link) in WordPress Editor.
- Make a small change in the title and save the changes.
- You'll see a translation update(versteckter Link) right after making the changes. Click on that update icon.
- When the translation editor opens, search for the links. Please check this documentation to understand the process: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-translate-urls-shortcodes-and-html-attributes-using-the-advanced-translation-editor/#translating-urls-with-the-advanced-translation-editor
- Make sure that the links are translated and pointed correctly.
- Fully complete the translation update and save the changes.

Please let me know how it goes. I will be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

Hello,

thanks for clarifying.
All of the translated posts are published.

We tried to follow your steps and got the following result:

1. When editing the post versteckter Link only the translation icon for hungarian changes (first screenshot). Clicking on that item doesn't do anything.

2. When trying to click on edit translation manually via the adminbar on the post: versteckter Link we can see (second screenshot)

3. If we type www. or https:// .. in the search bar, we can only see the _elementor_data field (third screenshot)
It seems like that this data is only available in the orignial language. The translated field for english is empty.

Translating _elementor_data is set to "copy once" in the wpml settings (screenshot 4)

Thank you for your help

Best regards

Hello There,
I hope you're doing well. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the weekend.

Thank you for taking the time to test the suggestions and providing further updates. As the issue persists, a closer inspection will be required to understand the root cause of the issue. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT
-Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:
versteckter Link

Looking forward to your response.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

Hello There,
Thanks for sharing the access information.

While investigating, I attempted to update and save a page and its translation several times. Unexpectedly, I was locked out and can no longer access the backend. When I try to access the wp-admin, I see the following message: versteckter Link

Upon initial examination, it appears that the issue only occurs with pages whose parent pages are set to private. Kindly follow the steps below and check if that helps to solve the issue.

- Please open the parent page and make that page publicly accessible.
- Update the Translation of the Parent page so that the translated parent page can also be accessible
- Now, make a small change in the child page and save the changes.
- Update the translation as well.
- Now, open the default page in the editor and add the link to the internal page again.
- Save the changes and update the translation as well.

Please check and let me know the update. If you need further assistance, I kindly request you to disable the restrictions from site and let me know. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hello There,
Thank you for disabling the restrictions.

Upon re-evaluating your site, I have successfully identified the underlying cause of the issue. Upon deactivating the Custom Permalink plugin on the site, the links immediately begin to point to the correct pages in each respective language. Please check this video for a better understanding: versteckter Link

After checking properly, I found that the custom permalink plugin modifies the default permalink structure of each page and that was mainly causing the issue. If you want to keep the Custom permalink plugin enabled on your site, you may need to check and make sure that the permalink structure of each page is set properly.

You can also inform the Author or support of the "Custom Permalink" plugin and see if they are aware of such a situation. I hope they can help you better in this matter.

Let me know if there is anything else you need help with. I will be happy to assist you.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit
