Questions:
eamonnT : waiting
Mihai Apetrei : Hi there
Mihai Apetrei : Nice to meet you 🙂
eamonnT : hi
Mihai Apetrei : So, can you please let me know if you had the chance to take a look here and follow the exact steps mentioned here: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/ ?
eamonnT : yes
Mihai Apetrei : Also, can you please let me know if you installed and configured the WPML ACF Multilingual add-on?
eamonnT : yes
Mihai Apetrei : I'm checking the link in a second
Mihai Apetrei : This page is the default language, right?
Mihai Apetrei : Is the issue happening on the front-end, on the other language?
Mihai Apetrei : If yes, can you please let me know which is the other link for the other language?
eamonnT : other lang
Mihai Apetrei : Because I can't see a language switcher to quickly change the language
Mihai Apetrei : aw, ok, I saw it now in the footer
Mihai Apetrei : which language should I check?
Mihai Apetrei : German or Dutch?
Mihai Apetrei : or it's happening on both?
eamonnT : both
Mihai Apetrei : this is what you mean, right?
Mihai Apetrei : where is the design being stored? I guess in the custom field somewhere, right? the design/styling is usually saved in custom fields, I am not sure how this was created
eamonnT : it is this part
eamonnT : above that is in thrive editor and that does not translate that is why we are trying to replace using ACF fields
eamonnT : but as u can see the ACF fields also breaks
Mihai Apetrei : so it should look like this one, right? but from where is that styling coming?
eamonnT : correct
eamonnT : would u like wp loogin details
Mihai Apetrei : At the moment, I'm trying to understand where is the style coming from 🙂
Mihai Apetrei : my guess is that the styling is saved inside some custom fields
Mihai Apetrei : that's how it is usually done
Mihai Apetrei : and those custom fields need to be set to "copy" usually
Mihai Apetrei : otherwise, the styling won't be copied to the translated version
eamonnT : hmm i would need ask developer
Mihai Apetrei : So, the reason why this might happen is due to the way the page builder or the theme stores the styling for the content. Some store the styling in a custom field (the custom field usually contains the "style" or "css" or "layout" or "styling" wording) and that custom field might need to first be set to "copy" in order to have the styling being carried over to the translated page.
Mihai Apetrei : After doing this, you should first make a small change on the default language, then save the page, then go to the translation of that page and re-save it - and the CSS should be copied over.
Please check more here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-custom-fields/
Mihai Apetrei : this is usually the reason why styling is not copied over
eamonnT : how can I get a copy of this transcript to share with developer?
eamonnT : thanks
eamonnT : After the chat is concluded we will send you in an email a transcript of this conversation
eamonnT : okay please send
