Hi There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

To reduce the waiting time, I took this ticket and responded in English. Please let me know if you're okay with it or if you want to continue the conversation in German language. I will check and forward this ticket to one of our German-speaking supporters to assist you in the German language.

I understand what you're looking for. Brands appears to be a WooCommerce taxonomy, and if you're trying to translate its terms from WPML > Taxonomy Translation or WooCommerce Multilingual, you'll need to translate them manually. Taxonomies don't translate automatically unless they are added to a post or product.

To automatically translate the details associated with the terms within the Brand taxonomy, you need to assign the term to a product first. Once assigned, you can send the product for automatic translation. During this process, the details such as the description and title attached to the Brand term will also be translated automatically.

So, to translate them automatically, please attach the Brand term to a product and then translate the product.

Please give it a try and let me know how it goes. I'll be happy to help if you need further assistance or clarification in this matter.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hello,
yes it seems to work.

You can also set that the brands name and link are adopted and not translated. only the description should be translated

Regards,
Dominik

Hello Dominik,
Thank you for the update.

I'm glad to hear that the suggestion worked!

When translating a product automatically, all the information associated with the Brand term added to the product, including the term title and any other details, should also be translated automatically. However, links will not be translated automatically. We have disabled the automatic translation of links for safety purposes.

However, if you want the Term title and link on the translated term to be copied from the default language, you can set the translation preference for these fields to "Copy" by going to the "WPML > Settings > Custom Term Meta Translation" section.

If you can locate the field name, search for it in the Term Meta section. If it appears in the results, set the field settings to 'Copy'.

Once done, just update the default term, and the Title should be copied to its translation.

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance or have any other questions, feel free to let me know. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
