Changelog
This release speeds up several Media Translation screens and fixes a few long-standing filtering and notification issues.
Faster media screens
- Media translation screens load faster: duplicating media, warming attachment caches, and scanning posts for media now use batched queries instead of one-by-one lookups.
- Idle admin screens no longer trigger repeated background media scans; the scan now runs one batch per page load.
Media Translation dashboard fixes
- The status filter on the Media Translation screen now correctly filters attachments by their translation status.
- Filtering media by translation status no longer redirects you to the old Media page.
- The Media Translation setup link now takes you to the correct page.
Notifications
- Translation managers are notified again when a translation job is completed.
- The outdated “WPML Media database needs updating” message no longer appears.
Security
- This release includes security hardening.
Update or download
The update is available to all WPML clients with an active subscription — it appears on the Plugins page in your WordPress admin within 24 hours of release. You can also check for it right away under Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial. To download and install manually, go to Downloads in your wpml.org account (see the installation instructions) and remember to update all components together without mixing versions.
