I have the WPML plugin, WooCommerce and the website was built with Elementor and Astra theme. The translations with WPML works perfectly, but if someone goes to the checkout page and enters any country, a message comes out saying that we don't ship to that country, as if it doesn't recognize that ITALIA and ITALY are the same country. How do I translate the countries and make WPML understand that we ship to ITALY = ITALIA in order to avoid that shipping error?
thanks

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support. I will be glad to assist you in this matter.

Due to the high volume of tickets in the Italian support forum, I have taken this ticket and will be responding in English. Please let me know if you are okay with this or if you prefer to assign it to my Italian-speaking colleague. I will be happy to do that for you.

I understood that you're having with Shipping. Translated country names shouldn't cause any issues with shipping. But, if you want to translate the country name, please follow the steps mentioned below.

- Please go to "WPML > Theme and Plugins localization"
- From there, scroll down to the Plugins section. Select the "WooCommerce" plugin and click on the "Scan" button.
- Once the scan is completed, go to "WPML > String Translation".
- Search for the country name that you want to translate.
- To add the translation, simply click on the "+" icon once the name appears in the results.

Check these documentations for more information:

2- https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/

Please let me know if that helps or if you need further assistance. I will be happy to help.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

Hi Prosenjit,
thanks for your reply, I have tried translating the countries strings, but the problem persists. I attach two screenshots. What else can be?

Hi There,

I checked the checkout page on your site and can see that the payment options are displaying correctly when Italy is selected from the country list. Please check this screenshot: link nascosto

As it shows fine now, did you manage to find the solution? If not, kindly share the steps to check and replicate the issue. I will check accordingly and let you know an update soon.

Looking forward to your response and kind cooperation in this matter.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit
