Sagen Sie uns, was Sie zu tun versuchen?
Ich möchte die Seite übersetzen aber die Bilder (Generell und WooCommercde Produktbilder) nicht duplizieren. Habe grade begonnen und es wurden alle Bilder kopiert.
Wie kann ich das ausschalten sodass ich nur die Alt-Tags übersetzen ohne dass ich Bilder dupliziere?
To reduce the waiting time, I took this ticket and responded in English. Please let me know if you're okay with it or want to continue the conversation in German language. I will check and forward the ticket to one of our German supporters to assist you in the German language.
I understand what you're looking for. When you mention "not duplicate the images," do you want the image section on the translated product to appear blank? If so, please do the following adjustments and then try to translate a product that haven't been translated yet.
- Please go to WPML > Settings and scroll to the Media Translation Section
- Uncheck all the versteckter Link">options in that section and click on "Apply"
- Once done, try to translate a new product.
If the option to translate/duplicate media is disabled, the alt tag and other meta information associated with the images will not be available for translation. Therefore, you won't be able to translate them. However, if you keep the "Translate media library texts with posts" option enabled in the Media Translation settings, you'll be able to translate the image meta directly from the editor.
However, I would like to clarify what duplication/translation of media means in WPML. When you attach an image to a product in the original language, WPML creates a new attachment post in the database for each translation. This process does not duplicate the actual image files in your wp-content/uploads directory, which prevents the directory from becoming excessively large.
Instead, these new attachment posts contain the language information and point to the existing image URLs. This method ensures that the same image file is reused across different languages, helping to avoid bloating your server storage with duplicate image files.
I hope this clarifies things. If you keep the Media Translation option enabled and proceed with translation, the image will indeed be linked to the translation, and the default image will be shown in the translated version. However, the image file itself will not be physically duplicated in other languages. This ensures that the same image is used across different languages without creating multiple copies. I hope this helps you understand the process better.
Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance or clarifications. I will be happy to help.
Best regards,
Prosenjit
