Background of the issue:
I recently purchased translation credits for my WPML account, but they are not appearing on my WordPress site. My setup includes WPML Multilingual CMS version 4.7.6, WPML String Translation version 3.3.3, WPML SEO version 2.2.2, and WordPress version 6.8.2. The site URL is link nascosto, with Italian as the primary language and English as the secondary language. The server environment details include PHP version 8.3.23, PHP memory limit of 1024M, and PHP max execution time of 660. I have verified the purchase on WPML.org, checked the WPML dashboard, and cleared caches, but the credits are still not showing up.

Crucially, while my "Registered Sites" section on WPML.org correctly lists only link nascosto, the "Change Automatic Translation Credits for" pop-up (where I assign credits) still displays an old, no longer active development domain (link nascosto) alongside my current production site. This discrepancy seems to be preventing the correct assignment of my purchased credits to my active site. The credit assignment modal indicates "You have 0 credits available on your account" for these listed sites, despite the total balance on my account.

Symptoms:
The newly purchased translation credits are not reflected in my balance on the WordPress site, showing the old or zero credit amount.

Questions:
Why are the translation credits not synchronizing with my site?
How can I get the credits properly displayed and available for use?

Hi there.

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this, and I'm here to help you resolve it.

Those credits probably got stuck.

So, please let me explain why I think this situation with the credits might be happening.

When you initially install and set up WPML, an automatic translation account ID is created.

If you uninstall/reset WPML or reinstall/set WordPress from scratch, a new automatic translation account ID will be generated, and the credits will remain in the old account.

On this page (https://wpml.org/account), after you log into your WPML.org account, if you see the credits, can you click the "add/remove credits” button and move the credits back to your WPML.org account?

Then, please go here (https://wpml.org/account/sites/) > remove the current site key > generate a new one > then go to your website's backend > Plugins > Add new > Commercial > UNregister WPML from the old key > RE-register WPML with the new key.

Now, you can re-add the credits to your site by following the steps here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/how-to-assign-automatic-translation-credits-to-your-sites/

Please let me know if that works fine for you.

Hi Enrico.

I moved those credits (52000) back to your WPML.org account.

Now, please try the following steps:

Go here (https://wpml.org/account/sites/) > remove the current site key > generate a new one > then go to your website's backend > Plugins > Add new > Commercial > UNregister WPML from the old key > RE-register WPML with the new key.

Now, you can try to re-add the credits to your site by following the steps here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/how-to-assign-automatic-translation-credits-to-your-sites/

Please let me know if that works fine for you this time.
