[Geschlossen] Sprache auf der Standard-Website-URL ändern

wir haben eine Seite aufgebaut (in Deutsch) und sie dann auf Englisch und Spanisch übersetzt (über Verzeichnisse mit: /en und /es).
Wir möchten nun einstellen, dass standardmäßig die englische Übersetzung bei Eingabe der regulären Website-URL erscheint. Sprich bei Eingabe von versteckter Link soll die englische Übersetzung erscheinen und nicht die deutsche Standardsprache. Wichtig ist: Wir möchten trotzdem weiterhin Deutsch im Backend als Standard-Sprache zum Erstellen neuer Beiträge und Inhalte etc. verwenden.
Wie stellen wir ein, dass die englische Übersetzung statt der deutschen Standardsprache bei Aufruf der Website-URL erscheint? Oder alternativ: Wie leiten wir die Standard-URL auf das englische Verzeichnis um?

I understand what you're looking for. You can set English as the default language for your site, ensuring that visitors see the English version first when they access the site. This change won't affect your backend workflow, where you can still create content in German and then translate it into English.
Here's how to do it:
1. Go to WPML > Languages > Site Languages.
2. Click "Change Default Language" and set it to English.
3. Save your Permalink settings by going to Settings > Permalinks and clicking "Save Changes".
4. When creating content, switch the backend language to German by using the language switcher in the top bar of the admin panel (Screenshot: versteckter Link), then proceed to create your content.
This ensures people see English by default and you can keep creating content in German and then translate the contents into English.

Habe ich das richtig verstanden: Die Standardsprache hat also keine Auswirkung auf die Übersetzungs-Richtung im Backend (von Deutsch nach Englisch) sondern bezieht sich nur auf die Frontend Standardsprache?
Zu deiner Anleitung habe ich Rückfragen:
1) Beim Ändern der Standard-Sprache erscheint ein Warnhinweis: "Bei der Änderung der Standardsprache der Seite können einige Inhalte verschwinden.". Der verlinkte Info-Artikel erklärt das leider nicht.
Was bedeutet das (was passiert beim Umstellen der Sprache mit dem Inhalt)?
Und vor allem: Was muss ich tun, damit keine Inhalte "verschwinden"?
2) Unter "Einstellungen" finde ich keinen Bereich "Permalinks". Hier finde ich nur "Linkziele übersetzen" ("Jetzt Linkziele durchsuchen und anpassen"). Meinst du das?
This default language setting primarily affects the frontend of your website. It determines which language is displayed as the default when visitors first access your site. WPML allows you to translate from the secondary language to the default language and vice versa. Therefore, if you change the default language to English, the English content will load first when someone accesses your site. However, you can still create content in German and then translate it into English.
Let me address your other concerns:
1) Content disappear warning: In some cases, changing your default language may make it appear as though content is missing. This happens for any untranslated post types or taxonomies set to Translatable – use translation if available or fallback to default language. When you change the default language, these post types aren't actually missing; they simply don't exist in the new default language, so there is no content to fallback to.
If you are using this translation setting and want to change the default language, ensure all your posts are translated into the language you intend to make your new default language.
2) Unable to find the "Permalink" section: I was referring to the WordPress permalink setting. From your WordPress Dashboard, you can go to "Settings > Permalinks" and save the permalink structure refresh the permalink.
