[Resuelto] Error al cambiar el idioma por defecto de mi web

Problema: El cliente desea cambiar el idioma predeterminado de su sitio web de Catalán a Español, pero enfrenta problemas donde el editor de traducciones avanzado aún reconoce el Catalán como idioma predeterminado y todos los menús han desaparecido. Solución: 1. Para cambiar el idioma fuente del contenido a Español, primero desconecta la traducción en Español de la página predeterminada siguiendo esta guía. 2. Abre la página en Catalán en el editor de WordPress y utiliza la opción 'Conectar con traducción' para seleccionar la página en Español que deseas conectar como traducción. 3. En el diálogo que aparece, selecciona la opción Hacer [Idioma] el idioma original para esta página y guarda los cambios. 4. Para resolver la desaparición de los menús, verifica si el menú en Catalán ha sido traducido al Español. Si no es así, puedes traducir el menú siguiendo esta guía o crear manualmente el menú en Español.

Cuando entro en el Escritorio todo se ve en Español pero han quedado cosas que no funcionan bien:
1. El editor de traducciones avanzado aun cree que el idioma por defecto aún es el catalán. Al intentar editar un contenido en español me aparece el mensaje: Advertencia: Está tratando de modificar una traducción con el editor estándar de WordPress, pero su sitio está configurado para usar el Editor de traducción de WPML.

I understand the issue you're having. Please note that even if you change the default language of the site, the source language of the content will remain set to the language in which it was originally created. For example, if the content was created in Catalan, the source language will still be Catalan, even if you change the default language of the site to Spanish. The source language of the content and the default language of the site are two different settings.
Now, if you also want to change the source language of the content to Spanish, please follow the steps below:
1. First, disconnect the Spanish translation from the default page by following this guide.
2. Once done, open the Catalan page in the WordPress editor.
3. Since the page is not connected with a translation, you'll see a link 'Connect with translation' in the language meta section. Please check this screenshot: enlace oculto. Click on that link.
4. A dialogue will appear where you can select the Spanish page you want to connect as a translation. You may need to enter the page name in the box, and once it appears, select the page.
5. After selecting the page, another dialogue will prompt you to set the default page. If you want to change the page’s original language to Spanish, select Make [Language] the original language for this page and save the changes.
In this way, you'll be able to change the default language of the page to Spanish, and the warning will not appear again.
Regarding the disappearance of the menus: It's possible that the Catalan menu hasn't been translated into Spanish. This could be why no menus are showing in the backend in Spanish, even though they should be working on the frontend. Now, if you want, you can translate the Catalnm Menu into Spanish by following any of the method mentioned in this guide or manually create the Spanish menu. I hope it will help.

Hola, parece que ha funcionado pero algo no me queda claro.
El idioma que quiero que quede como original es el español y el catalán y en inglés como traducciones.
Una vez tengo los idiomas desconectados del catalán voy al catalán de nuevo para asignarlo como traducción del español. Al conectar me sale el recuadro que has comentado de "Establecer el Catalán como idioma original para este page" . No entiendo si que tengo que marcar esta opción o no. Entiendo que no porque quiero que el español sea el original i las traducciones el catalán y el inglés.

Regarding the empty contents in the Translation Editor, this issue often occurs if the page was previously translated using the WordPress editor but is now being translated using the WPML Translation Editor. Since translation memories are not shared between different translation methods, you will not see the translated contents from the previous editor in the new WPML Translation Editor. Please check the guide below for more details.
Since you've changed the source language, this is also a reason for the issue. Because the source language of the page has been changed, the content needs to be translated from Spanish to English again. As no translations have been made from Spanish to any other language, the translation memory does not contain any translation data. This is why the translation editor appears empty, requiring you to add the translation again.
However, the Catalan translation should still be working on the frontend. If you want, you can copy the translation from the frontend and paste it into the Catalan translation section. This way, you can fully complete the Spanish to Catalan translation.
