Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support. I will be happy to assist you in this matter.

Due to the high volume of tickets in the Spanish support forum, I have taken this ticket and will be responding in English. Please let me know if you are okay with this or if you prefer to assign it to my Spanish-speaking colleague. I will be happy to do that for you.

I can understand your concern. If the slug of any page/post contains any non-ASCII character, due to the URL encoding feature in CMS, that slug will be presented in the Percent-encoded way(For example, if the Hebrew character "ש" (Shin) is added in the URL, its percent-encoded representation in the URL will be "%D7%A9".). Kindly be informed that this behavior is normal, and there is no issue with the way the URL is shown in the sitemap or the search engine.

So, in your case, there is no issue with the sitemap or the slug. When someone clicks on this URL or accesses it through a search engine, the browser will decode it and display the Hebrew characters in the address bar correctly.

Also, when search engines crawl the sitemap and encounter these percent-encoded characters, they correctly interpret them as Hebrew characters and display the URL correctly in search results.

I hope you can understand. Rest assured that the URL will be vrawled and displayed correctly. No further actions are required in this matter.

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or need further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help you.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit
