Solution: We identified that the issue might be due to the absence of a header template which is necessary for displaying the language switcher in the header. If the page is neither duplicated nor translated, the language switcher won't show up in the header. To display the language switcher on pages that do not have translations, we recommend using the fallback option. Problem: The client is concerned about whether reinstalling WPML and retranslating the content on their development site will consume additional translation credits. Solution: We recommend ensuring that the migration is performed correctly. When WPML uses credits to translate content, this content is saved into the database. Therefore, as long as the migration preserves the database content, WPML should not re-translate the same content, and no additional credits should be consumed.
