Problem:
After installing WooCommerce, the client's site stopped working due to incorrect '/it/' in rewrite rules, with the language code for the default language activated. Saving entities in WooCommerce caused the site to stop working due to .htaccess issues.
Solution:
We recommend checking the Home URL setting in your WordPress admin. Go to wp-admin > Settings > General and ensure to remove '/it' from the end of the Home URL. After adjusting the Home URL, navigate to wp-admin > Settings > Permalink and click 'Save' at the bottom of the page to flush the .htaccess file and rewrite rules. This action should resolve the issue.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend opening a new support ticket. Additionally, please check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. I have installed woocommerce recently in my site. Right after the installation, my site stopped working because of an incorrect /it/ in rewrite rules. We have the language code for the default language activated. When I save my entities in woocommerce the site stops working for htaccess problems. I also implemented your solution to add the rewriterule function not to change the htaccess but the problem still persists. Can you help me?

I checked your debug info and I can see this:

It is possible that the issue you're experiencing is related with the HomeURL having a '/it'.

Can you please go to wp-admin > Settings > General and edit the home field, removing the /it in the end of it?

After that, please go to wp-admin > Settings > Permalink and click on save at the bottom of the page so the .htaccess file and the rewrite rules are flushed.

Then, check if the issue is fixed.
