Hi Marcel, thank you very much. It solved most of my problems. However the word "Versandkostenpauschale" (shipping charges) in the checkout is still not translated (s. the uploaded photo), nor does it appear in the string translations.
it is not a taxonomy. the customer sees it (it says in German something like "fixed-price-shipping". It would be ok, if the word does not appear at all in the English checkout version.
Woocommerce lets you choose between three shipping options: in German: Versandkostenpauschale (=fixed price), kostenfrei (free shipment) or Abholung (pick-up).
You have to chose one of the three, otherwise checkout won't work. In my case I chose "Versandkostenpauschale". This word appears in checkout front end. It does not translate in English, appears also there. I found a workaround (which of course is not perfect). I replaced the word "Versandkostenpauschale" (you can replace it but not delete it) with "-". This does also not translate into Englisch, but does not hurt.....
if it's not a shipping zone, it should be working to translate. Something else on the installation may be blocking it (file permission error on /wp-content/languages, etc.). I'm asking as I can't confirm if you are using native Woo functions or extras, such as added by Legal plugins such as "Germanized" or "MarketPress" or any other shipping Add-On. This can sometimes interfere with the functionality.
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I'll need to temporarily install a plugin called "Duplicator" or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.
IMPORTANT
-Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: versteckter Link
If it's urgent, you can temporarily rename it to "Versandkostenpauschale / Fixed price" in the default language (all in one string) until we check it.
