Overview of the issue

Advanced Custom Fields plugin has a feature which allows you to export and import fields from or to a JSON file:

However, this feature does not work properly when you have set your field groups as Translate: it will always export or import your fields for the current language.

Workaround

Go to WPML → Settings → Post Types Translation and set your Field Groups as Don’t Translate.
This is our recommend way to translate ACF fields.

  1. Hi,

    I’m using local-json for our acf to sync all fields in all our subsites. The problem is on our local-json file i indicated that image fields should translate. But on the editing page and the wpml settings > custom fields translation i can see that those images are still set to copy. How to fix this issue? looks like its not reading or sync with the json file settings
