Divi 5 - Migrating from Divi 4 May Fail

Overview of the issue

When using Divi with WPML, you might experience an issue where migrating a site from Divi 4 to Divi 5 fails using the Divi migrator tool, showing the message: “Something went wrong while Migrating to Divi 5”.

This can happen if there are ghost entries in WPML’s translation tables. Ghost entries are leftover or orphaned translation records in the database that no longer correspond to existing content, which can interfere with the migration process.

Workaround

Before migrating to Divi 5, please, make sure of having a full site backup of your site before proceeding.

• Go to WPML > Support and click the troubleshooting link.
• On the troubleshooting page, click on the “Remove ghost entries from the translation tables” button.
• Wait until the operation is completed.
• Try to run the migration to Divi 5 again.
