Overview of the issue

When using WPML with private custom post types, you might experience a 500 error when attempting to review automatic translations before publishing. This occurs because private post types, such as Avada Layouts, do not support front-end previews, even in the original language.

Workaround

You can review and approve the translations directly from the WordPress admin:

  • Edit the original language post in the back end.
  • Use the language switcher in the top admin bar to switch to the translated version.
  • Publish the translation from the editor.

Alternatively, you can approve translations using the bulk action:

  • Go to “WPML > Translations”.
  • Select the translations that need to be approved.
  • Use the bulk action dropdown to select “Approve translation reviews”.
