WPBakery Page Builder - WPML Classic Editor Overwrites Translations with Source Language Content

Overview of the issue

When you create a page using WPBakery Page Builder plugin and translate it, updating the original page can lead to an issue where the Classic Translation Editor (CTE) unexpectedly overwrites existing translations with the content from the source language.

This issue does not occur when using Gutenberg but may happen with other known page builders

Workaround

To avoid this issue, it is recommended to switch to the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE). The ATE offers a more robust translation workflow and does not exhibit the same issue as the Classic Translation Editor.

However, you can also downgrade to WPML 4.6.6, if you prefer keep using the Classic Translation Editor.
