Overview of the issue

In Yoast SEO Premium version 25.7, a redesigned Redirects page introduces stricter UI validation rules when setting up redirections. This may lead to display any of the following validation errors:

  • Old URL should be relative.
  • The old URL is missing the directory for the default language.
  • The new URL is moved permanently according to WordPress SEO validation.

These errors are related to UI validation only and not the actual functionality of redirection.

Workaround

Simply click on “Save anyway”. Despite the warning, the redirection will work as expected.
