greetings Norbert

Hi Norbert,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

To reduce the waiting time, I took this ticket and responded in English. Please feel free to let me know if you're okay with it or want to continue the conversation in German. I will check and forward this ticket to one of our German-speaking supporters to assist you further in German language.

I understand the issue you're having. Please note that the theme you're using(Pepper+) is currently not listed in the compatible theme list of WPML. You can also verify that from this link: https://wpml.org/theme/

Therefore, the issue you're having could be a compatibiliuty issue as well. However, as far as I checked the doucmentation of the theme, the theme includes its own builder and specific modules. Until WPML support is integrated for these modules, any content placed within them may not be available for translation.

You can check the guide below to understand how the translation support can be integrated for different page builder modules:

It would be beneficial to contact the theme's support team to inquire whether WPML translation support is integrated with their theme. Additionally, you could request their assistance in translating the modules. They should be able to provide more specific guidance on this matter.

Since the theme is still not included in our compatible Theme list, you can also request them to join the Go Global pogram of WPML to make their plugin compatible with WPML. You can also share this link(https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/) for more details about the program.

I hope you can understand. If there is anything else I can help you with, feel free to let me know. I will be happy to assist.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hello Prosenjit

I have now spoken to the manufacturer of my theme who assures me that their theme is compatible with WP Rocket. We have made some progress and I no longer see any empty "translation pages".

However, the translated pages are still in the source language.

I have enabled all the "user-defined fields" mentioned by the theme manufacturer for translation (see screenshot 1), but unfortunately these do not appear in the translation management (see screenshot 2).

What could be the cause?

Thanks in advance
Cheers Norbert

Hello Norbert,
I hope you're doing well.

If the theme's Author confirms that the theme is compatible with WPML (it looks like you intended to refer to WPML instead of WP Rocket), then they should submit the theme for compatibility check through our Go-Global program(https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/). Currently, we have no compatibility information available for the theme "Pepper+".

From the screenshot, I noticed that you have set the translation setting for certain fields to "Translate". If the contents are stored in custom fields and you have set these fields to be translatable, they should now display correctly in the Translation Editor. Could you please make a minor edit to the page using the WordPress editor, save the updates, and then try to retranslate the page?

Please let me know how it goes. I will be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hi Prosenjit,

thank´s for your prompt answer.
Sorry for the confusion WP Rocket vs. WPMP 🙂

I made the minor edit and saved the changes. Then i translated the site (versteckter Link) once again. Nothing changed..... ;-(

Se also the screenshot enclosed.

So what to do?

Greetings
Norbert

Hello Norbert,
Thank you for the update.

In that case, could you please try to replicate the issue on our sandbox site? You can access the sandbox using the autologin link provided below:

- versteckter Link

The WPML plugin and its addons are pre-installed on the sandbox. Please complete any remaining setup steps. Then, install the necessary theme and plugins and attempt to replicate the issue as it occurs on the main site.

If you encounter the same issue on the sandbox site, let me know. I will review it and advise you on the next steps.

The primary goal of using the sandbox site is to isolate the issue in a minimalenvironment, eliminating any server or external factors that might be influencing the behavior on the main site.

Please let me know the update. I'll be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hello Prosenjit,

I´ve now installed and activated my theme pepper+ in the sandbox you suggested.
Also one page and one module i´ve created there.

versteckter Link

I configured WPML and marked alle custom fields from quadro.... to be translated.

Then i tried to translate manually .. but .. the same situation as on my production site.
The main text is not shown for translation (see screenshot)

Hope you can help!
Greetings
Norbert

Hello Norbert,
Thank you for replicating the issue in the sandbox.

I've checked and successfully managed to translate the content. Please review the English version of the page here: versteckter Link

Upon examining the Sandbox, it appears you had created a Module by navigating to "Modules > Add New". Initially, the 'Modules' post type was set to "Not Translatable," which is why the Module you created wasn't appearing in the translated version of the page. Here are the steps I took to resolve this:

- I navigated to `WPML > Settings` and under "Post Type Translation," I changed the setting for "Modules (quadro_mods)" to "Translatable - only show translated items."
- Then, I went to "Modules > All Modules" and translated the Module you created. During the translation, you may notice some custom field values in the editor. It's important to maintain the same custom field values in the translation and translate only the content that will appear on the frontend.
- After completing the Module translation, I proceeded to translate the page where the Module is attached. Once the page is translated, the contents appear correctly translated.

Please try following these steps and let me know if they resolve the issue or if you need any further assistance. I'm here to help!

Best regards,
Prossenjit

Hello Prossenjit,

I would like to thank you very much for your help.

The reference to the "Post Type Translation" was ultimately the solution. I always thought that the settings in the user-defined fields were sufficient and had never scrolled down far enough in the Post Type Translation to see the entry necessary for Pepper+.

Thank you... it all seems to work now!

greetings Norbert
