Problem:
The client was struggling with translating the footer area in their multilingual site. The existing legal mentions block assigned to French was disappearing correctly when not in French, but the duplicated and translated block for English was not appearing when switched to English.
Solution:
We identified that the configuration of the footer was confusing due to three different menus being under the same section instead of each having its own section. We resolved the issue by deleting the footer area 1 and recreating it in French. Then, we used WPML > String Translation to translate it, which corrected the problem.
