Problem:
You are trying to automatically translate posts from a secondary language (ES) to other languages (FR, DE, IT, etc.) on your site, but this feature only works when posts are created in the default language.
Solution:
We support creating a post in a secondary language and having it automatically translated to the main language. However, you must manually trigger the automatic translation in the post/page editor. For a demonstration of how this works, you can view this video: https://go.screenpal.com/watch/cZQnovVR3UV
If you want to translate in bulk, using WPML version 4.7 or higher allows you to send multiple pages to automatic translation. This process is detailed here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/deepl-translation-from-secondary-to-primary-content/#post-16431120

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Contexte de la question:
I'm trying to automatically translate posts from a secondary language (ES) to other languages (FR, DE, IT, etc) on my site lien caché. This feature seems to only work when posts are created in the default language.

Symptômes:
Automatic translation does not work for posts created in a secondary language.

Questions:
Would there be a way to automatically translate posts from a secondary language without changing the default language?
Do I have to temporarily change the default language of the website to match the post's language for automatic translation?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting WPML support team,

Creating a post in a secondary language and having it automatically translated to the main language is supported. However, the automatic translation must be manually triggered in the post/page editor.

For an example of how this works, you can view this video: lien caché

But if you want to do this in bulk, using WPML 4.7 or higher allows you to send multiple pages to automatic translation,

This is well explained here : https://wpml.org/forums/topic/deepl-translation-from-secondary-to-primary-content/#post-16431120

I hope this helps,

Best,
