Overview of the issue

If you encounter either of these issues, it is most likely because of problems connecting with WPML.org.

Workaround

We recommend that you:

  • Unregister WPML from your site
  • Re-register WPML on your site
  • Troubleshoot the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE)

Below, we explain the exact workflow for each step.

To Unregister WPML from Your Site:

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New and click over to the Commercial tab.
  2. Click on Unregister WPML from this site.
  3. In a separate tab, log into your WPML account and click on Register WPML on your sites.  You will see a list of sites you have registered. Click the Trash icon next to the site you just unregistered.

To Re-Register WPML on Your Site:

Please note that it is important that you follow the exact steps below. We do not recommend going to your WPML.org account and adding your site’s URL manually, as accidentally misspelled domain names can cause problems with registering WPML.

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New and enter the Commercial tab. Then, click on Get a key for this site to generate a new site key in your WPML account.
  2. This automatically opens your WPML.org account page, where you can choose your type of site and once again assign the translation credits to it.
  3. Copy the newly generated site key and paste it into the field in the setup wizard to finish the site registration process.

To Troubleshoot the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE):

  1. Go to WPML → Support and click on the link to the Troubleshooting page.
  2. In the Clean up section, click on Synchronize local job IDs with ATE and Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE.

Go to WPML → Translation Management and re-send your content for translation.
