Taxonomies are not deleted with the Delete content from database option

Overview of the issue

When you are attempting to remove an active language, WPML displays a Delete content from database option to remove all the content that was translated into that language. However, although all the content content in the deleted language is removed, it is not the case for taxonomies.

Workaround

It is strongly recommended to create a full site backup before attempting any manual deletions or significant changes to the site configuration:

• Go to WPML > Languages and reactivate the language you intended to remove.
• Go to your Posts > Taxonomies.
• Click on the top bar language switcher and click on the language you want to delete.
• Manually delete the taxonomies.
• Go back to WPML > Languages and deactivate the language again.
