Reported for: WPML Multilingual CMS 4.6.13

Overview of the issue

In WordPress 6.6, a new Overrides in Synced Patterns feature was introduced, allowing specific fields to be marked as “Override” for customization in individual pages or posts. However, this feature is currently not compatible with WPML. When patterns with overridden fields are added to a page, the customized content is not available for translation in WPML. This issue affects both native WordPress patterns and third-party blocks like those from the Stackable plugin.

Workaround

At the moment there is not a viable workaround but our team is investigating this issue.

  1. Hello,

we are also wondering if there is any update on this issue. This is a major new feature in Gutenberg which can help a lot, especially on big projects and for agencies which work with Gutenberg. Not being able to use this because WPML is not supporting it, is a massive downside…

    Greetings

  2. I just found this open issue and I’m surprised that a core WordPress feature is not yet translatable 🙁 Please provide a fix for this. We are heavily using synced patterns.

  3. Any update on this topic? It is really cumbersome that WPML does not support this core WordPress feature.
