Problem:
The client needed to translate a video that exceeded the upload limit of their website, and WPML Media Translations did not access the Media Library for existing files.
Solution:
Initially, we suggested increasing the server's upload limits by modifying the

php.ini

,

.htaccess

, or

wp-config.php

files with the following settings:

upload_max_filesize = 128M<br />post_max_size = 128M

However, the client was on shared hosting, which often does not allow such changes. As a workaround, we recommended using a shortcode to add the video URL, which then could be translated via WPML's String Translation. The client could add the video URL using the shortcode from our documentation here: WPML String Translation Shortcode.
Ultimately, the client discovered that the Avada video element already supported translating the video URL, which resolved the issue.

Problem:
You want to exclude products from automatic translation in the latest version of WPML, but are unsure how to deactivate automatic translation for products.
Solution:
Currently, WPML does not support excluding specific content types from automatic translation via settings. To manage what gets translated, you can disable the “Translate Everything Automatically” option by navigating to WPML > Translation Management. Once this option is disabled, you can manually select and send only the content you want (e.g., blog posts or real estate listings) for translation. This approach gives you full control over what is translated and prevents WPML from translating everything automatically.

The client is using the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) in WPML and has content that does not require translation. Despite setting the translation priority to 'Not needed' for specific pages, these pages still appear as 'not translated' in the translation management dashboard. The client is seeking ways to automatically exclude such items from translation processes, especially when using the 'Translate Everything Automatically' feature.
Solution:
Currently, WPML does not support the automatic exclusion of items marked as 'Not needed' from the translation process when using the 'Translate Everything Automatically' feature. Our team has reviewed the request to deselect some content from the translation editor, but as of now, this is not a popular request, and there are no plans to implement it in the near future. We recommend manually managing items that do not need translation and not including them in the 'Translate Everything Automatically' setup.

Der Kunde kann nach einem Update auf ein Block-Theme das Menü auf der Subseite nicht mehr auswählen und die Flagge neben dem Menü nicht mehr anzeigen. Zuvor konnte er spezifische Sprachen im Menü ausblenden, was nun nicht mehr möglich ist.
Solution:
Wir haben erklärt, dass die Menüsprachwechsler-Option für klassische Menüs unter 'Design > Menüs' gedacht ist und bei modernen Block-Themes nicht verfügbar ist. Für Block-Themes sollte die Übersetzung der Menüs unter 'WPML > Translation Management > Dashboard' erfolgen und der Sprachwechsler über den 'WPML Sprachwechsler Block' im Site Editor hinzugefügt werden. Um komplette Sprachen auszublenden, kann man die Einstellungen unter https://wpml.org/de/documentation-3/ratgeber-zum-loslegen/einstellung-der-sprachen/sprachen-auf-dem-frontend-ausblenden/ anpassen.
