Problem:
You are trying to update WPML plugins on a staging site, but it is asking to register, and the staging site cannot use the production site key. Additionally, WPML needs to connect to its server for updates and security checks, but network or security settings are preventing this.
Solution:
If you need to register the WPML plugins on your staging site, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your WPML.org account and go to the Sites page.
2. Delete the existing staging site key, if present.
3. Log in to your staging site, navigate to Dashboard >> Plugins >> Add new Plugin > Commercial tab and click the Unregister WPML from this site link if available.
4. Click the Register WPML link, then the Get a key for this site link.
5. Copy the generated key, paste it into the input box, and press the Register button.
6. Take a backup of your site and try updating the plugins.
Alternatively, if you prefer not to register WPML on the staging site:
1. Take a backup of your site.
2. Navigate to Plugins >> Installed plugins, deactivate and delete the WPML plugins.
3. Download the latest versions from your WPML.org account downloads page.
4. Go to WP Dashboard >> Plugins >> Add new Plugin, upload the plugins, and activate them.
