Hintergrund des Themas:
In this project, we use the Classic Translation Editor. I want all non-administrators to use the WPML Translation Editor exclusively for translations (source language English). I have not found a setting option, and my attempts to use a hook have been unsuccessful. To deactivate the WPML language selector in the admin bar for non-admins would be good for me as an alternative.

Die Symptome:
I'm unable to find a setting or hook to enforce the use of WPML Translation Editor for non-admins or deactivate the WPML language selector in the admin bar (backend).

Fragen:
How can I enforce the use of WPML Translation Editor for non-admins, please?
How can I deactivate the WPML language selector in the admin bar for non-admins, please?

Hi,

Before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, I’d like to guide you through some initial debugging steps to help expedite the support process.

The functionality you're requesting isn’t available out of the box, so you would need to implement a custom solution. Please note that we’re unable to provide custom development work, but we’re happy to point you in the right direction.

Also, keep in mind that no changes should be made while the WPML Editor is active, as this can interfere with synchronization. Any changes made outside the editor risk being lost when further modifications are made in the default language.

To address this, you could block the language switcher via CSS for specific user roles. A helpful starting point might be this article: If the current user is an administrator or editor.

Best regards,
Marcel
