Resolved

Reported for: WPML Multilingual CMS 3.9.0-rc.2

Overview of the issue

If you are using WPML 3.9 or newer, you are probably aware that you don’t longer need to duplicate posts or products in order to display your not translated content on secondary languages.

However, if you hover your mouse over your language switcher, you can see that it is pointing to the wrong URL. Let’s say that you have English as your default language and German as your secondary one. For such a case, your product URLs should be something like:

  • my-site.com/product/red-shirt (English product).
  • my-site.com/de/produkt/red-shirt (German product).

But when you hover your German flag, it is pointing to:

  • my-site.com/de/product/red-shirt

Instead of:

  • my-site.com/de/produkt/red-shirt

Workaround

No workaround is needed in this case because even if the language switcher is pointing to the wrong URL, it will be redirected to your desired target.
