Overview of the issue

After updating the “The Events Calendar” plugin to v5.1.5, some users may see strings on the front-end of their site being displayed in the wrong language

Workaround

We are working with the plugin authors to correct this in upcoming releases. In the meantime, we recommend that you do not update The Events Calendar or downgrade to v5.1.4 if you’re experiencing issues with v5.1.5

Please make sure you take a full backup of your website before attempting to downgrade The Events Calendar, in case of issues. You may need to re-configure the Events settings after downgrading as well.

  1. I have downgraded to v5.1.4 and for some time it was ok, but then again it came back. I have also PRO version, should it also be downgraded?

When I activate PHP search then all ok, but it only valid while timer is on.

    • I’ve checked the internal ticket we have and from what I see these are the recommended versions to have
TEC v5.1.4 and TEC Pro v5.1.3.

I also want to mention that we sent the fix to The Events Calendar team and they’ll include it in their upcoming release.

    • Hello Marco,
We can’t assure it at this moment. We recommend you to contact the author as he can provide you a more accurate information.
      Thank you for your understanding.

  2. I had the issue with the calendar version 5.1.6. The downgrade to 5.1.4 appears to have fixed it. Thanks for the help info.

  3. Hello,

I am having the same issue.
Furtunately the TEC v5.1.4 and TEC Pro v5.1.3. workarround seem to work.
Btw, I am a litle curious to use a plugin without ugrade path.

Therefore I would like to know, when a working update can be expected?

    BR
    Andreas

  4. some further testing leads to a “still not working” situation.
Actually the language is competely mixed up and switches between the different languages back and forth without any control.
