Reported for: WPML Multilingual CMS 4.6.10
Overview of the issue
When you are attempting to translate a menu, and if your menu is using custom links as menu element, running WPML > WP Menu Sync can overwrite the translations with the wrong values in a setup where you use more than two languages.
Workaround
Before running WP Menu Sync, make sure you go to WPML > String Translation and there activate the option “Look for strings while pages are rendered”.
Then you can go to WPML > WP Menu Sync and work as normal with the menu synchronization wizard.
No, my problem is different.
I can’t create any new menu. When trying to add any existing page in the menu, it appears as “Custom Link” with blank text and link.
Every menu item I add comes up wrong and I can’t add any, it comes up blank.
The only menu items that remain are what I had before accidentally deleting the menu.
As you mentioned, this issue is different from the one reported here and we will need to investigate it. Could you please start a chat in assistance channel?
Please, I need your help urgently.
On Tuesday I have to go out with another web menu and I can’t.
How can I give you access so you can see the problem or send you a video of the error?
Thank you

In this video you can see how to add a page and it leaves it in “custom link” and without name or link: https://wpprovis.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/video-error-sync-menu.mov

I don’t understand it, I do have a wpml account that I pay annually. Here you can check it:
