On the front-end, WooCommerce Products features three default tabs: description, additional information, and reviews. WooCommerce Tab Manager is a popular extension that allows you to edit these default tabs and create custom ones. Since it is fully compatible with WooCommerce Multilingual, you can translate any tab you create with it.

Requirements

To be able to customize and translate WooCommerce tabs, you will need the following plugins to be installed and active on your site:

Additionally, you will need to perform the basic setup for WooCommerce, WPML, and WooCommerce Multilingual plugins.

Translating custom WooCommerce tabs

WooCommerce Tab Manager allows you to create two kinds of tabs, based on the application:

  • Global tabs applied to all products, or all products of certain categories you select.
  • Tabs applied per-product.

Translating Global Tabs

New Global Tabs are created on the WooCommerceTab Manager page, under the Add Global Tab.

Once a global tab is created, you can translate it in the same manner as posts.

On the tab editing page, look under the Language box and click the Plus icon for the language you want to translate into. You are presented with the same (but empty) tab editing page, where you only need to enter the translation for your global tab.

Translating tabs added to specific products

WooCommerce Tab Manager also allows you to add tabs to specific products only. Translating these tabs differs from the global ones.

To add a custom tab, edit the product and click Tabs under the Product Data section.

After you added the custom tab, go to WooCommerce WooCommerce Multilingual and add or edit the translation for the same product.

Please note that once you add custom tabs to a specific product, its Tabs option will override the ones set for the global tabs. If you want to use global tabs for these specific products as well, make sure to add the global tabs manually to each one of them. This is performed in the same Tabs section of the product editing page.
