We’ve just released WPML String Translation 3.2.16 to address issues with loading translations from themes and plugins caused by changes in WordPress 6.7.
Key Points to Note
WPML does not cause these issues.
These issues occur only on some sites and usually affect certain languages randomly.
Issues and Symptoms
Texts (strings) from some themes and plugins may appear in English instead of the translated language when using your site in languages other than English.
This happens because WordPress changed how it loads .mo files and this mechanism doesn’t load anymore for some third-party themes and plugins.
How to Fix These Issues
If your site is experiencing such issues, update it to WPML String Translation 3.2.16:
- Go to Plugins → Add New and click the Commercial tab.
- Click to check for updates.
- Select String Translation and click to update it.

Hi, Alexander, I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. No, there are no additional steps required besides updating your site to the latest version of String Translation (3.2.16). Hi, can you confirm the typo?
We found the newest Version with:
* Author URI: http://www.onthegosystems.com/
* Version: 3.2.16
* Plugin Slug: wpml-string-translation
There is no 3.2.169, is there?
Hi Alexander, I apologize and confirm – it was a typo. The latest version of String Translation is 3.2.16. I updated my original comment.
I just read from Germanized Support, that we shall delete some files from languages/wpml folder.
can you confirm that?
Hi, Alexander! Could you please share the link to the ticket in our support where you have read that? It will be easier for me to check with our support and developers.
Hi Alexander,
We had a few reports related to Germanized Pro and WordPress 6.7. WPML Strings Translation 3.2.16 partly addressed and fixed those issues.
I am not aware of the Germanized Support suggestion.
Drazen of our Support Leaders group is helping you in a ticket. Can you please share the information so we can look at it? Otherwise, you can also email me.
Thank you!
