Overview of the issue
Divi 5 is currently in its beta phase. The Divi team is actively releasing new features, which means some of them may not yet be fully supported by WPML.
Our Compatibility team is working closely with Elegant Themes to adapt to these ongoing changes. As a result, some translation workflows might not behave as expected until full compatibility is achieved.
We will continue to publish dedicated errata for each specific compatibility issue we identify.
Work in progress
- Divi 5 – Canvases Are Not Translatable
- Divi 5 – Migrating from Divi 4 Can Result in Empty Content in the Original Language
Already fixed in WPML 4.9
- Divi 5 – Dynamic content may lead to improper translation.
- Divi 5 – Loop Builder Dynamic Fields Not Parsed Correctly
- Divi 5 – Section, Row and Column links are not available for translation
- Divi 5 – Background images are not automatic translated
- Divi 5 – Global variables are not translatable

Please check this page periodically, as we will update it with new links as more issues are discovered and documented.

Hello Team,
I still experience problems also after today’s WMPL actualisations (4.8.6).
Hi Hubert. WPML 4.8.6 doesn’t have any fixes for Divi 5. Those fixes are coming in WPML 4.9. We will release the WPML 4.9 BETA next week and send a newsletter about it. When it’s out, please test it and let us know if it resolves your issues with Divi 5 and WPML. The final version of WPML 4.9 is scheduled for the release in the second part of January.
Hi! I made a huge mistake, moved to divi5… my site (onlinebouzoukischool.gr) is an eshop where a musician sells annual subscriptions to those who are interested to learn how to play the bouzouki by watching his videos. There is a huge dissapointment to all of us who trusted divi years ago and we find ourselves today helpless facing the dilemma “stay to divi4 or take our chances with divi5?”. Long story short, I almost did what a user with medium experience in WPML could do to solve translation problems (original pages in greek, translated in english) :
– Homepage and product page not showing in english version, only header & footer visible. Rest of pages ok.
– If I decide to change something in any already translated page, then it stops showing as well.
– Translated footer version not visible – only the greek version on all pages (greek and english).
Please, if you think you could provide some help, I ‘d be very glad to know (at least for the english version of the Homepage).
Thank you in advance for your time to read this ticket written in poor english!

Hello Kostas,
I’m sorry to hear that this migration hasn’t worked as expected. We will have a WPML beta version that should help with this transition but it hasn’t been released yet.
In the meantime, could you please open a chat in our support forum? In that way we will be able to investigate your case and help you with your website.
Regards,
Andrés
Hello, when the release for Divi5 patches s expected?
Hello,
Divi 5 fixes are included in WPML 4.9. We released the WPML 4.9 BETA and it can be downloaded from here : https://wpml.org/download/wpml-multilingual-cms/?section=changelog
Please test it and let us know if it resolves your issues with Divi 5 and WPML. The final version of WPML 4.9 is scheduled for the release in the second part of January.
When is new 4.9 version coming out?
Hi Pablo,
A beta version is already available, but the devs are still working on a few improvements, which has delayed the release. I can’t provide an exact ETA, but it should be ready in a couple of weeks (end of January or first week of February).
Not sure if this is something you know about or not, but getting issues with Divi builder when using the WPML setting ‘Different domain per language’ setting.
I can edit pages with the builder with the main/default domain (Welsh), but when I try to edit a translation (English) I Just blank page. I think I get this problem with pages, posts, and theme builder layouts in the second language domain.
If change the WPML setting to just go to /en/ instead of a domain, everything is ok – but the client wants the English site to go to another domain – so really need to get this setting working on divi 5. Will this be fixed in 4.9?
Hello,
Yes, we’re aware of this issue and have documented it here: https://wpml.org/errata/a-different-domain-per-language-configuration-conflicting-with-the-divi-editor/. However, please note that it’s not something we can fix on our end.
Hello Team,
Unfortunately, the update has not solved the problems with Divi 5 at this point. After switching to the translated page, it does not load the correct theme settings. It loads the default theme (not Divi).

WPML/Divi and Woocommerce is a disaster – “Your website has experienced a fatal error’. I’ve disabled WPML Multilingual & Multicurrency for WooCommerce and am building the rest just so I can ensure my site has the correct structure for when I start translating.
Bad form, WPML. I specifically sent a ticket to your sales to ensure WPML works with Divi and AIoSEO before I purchased. Now it seems there is a problem with the AIOSEO too.
Poor show.
Hello there,
I understand your disappointing. However, we don’t have similar reports so far and it doesn’t seem related to Divi 5.
As there is a “Fatal error” running in your website, could you please open a chat in our support forum? In that way we will be able to access your website and investigate it.

Hi there,
I am reporting that the latest version of WPML is causing the Divi 4 to Divi 5 migration to fail completely. All migrated pages result in a “White Screen of Death” with all content gone. Disabling WPML immediately resolves the issue, confirming the conflict lies within your plugin.
This issue has been known for nearly three months now. With Divi 5 scheduled for release in about 1.5 weeks, it is unacceptable that a fix is still not available. As paying customers, we need time to test and refine our sites before the official launch. Even many free plugins have already implemented full support.
When exactly will this be fixed? We rely on WPML for our production environments, but if this disaster continues, we will be forced to migrate our projects to a more reliable alternative.
I look forward to a concrete update on the timeline.
Hi Johannes,
Thanks for reporting the issue and opening a support ticket. Our developers are aware and are working on it with the release timeline in mind. We’ll keep you updated via the ticket.
