Overview of the issue

When using the new Product Safety feature from Germanized, there is an issue with translating manufacturer data and syncing these details in product translations.

Workaround

Please, make sure of having a full site backup of your site before proceeding.

1. Ensure manufacturers are correctly translated

  • Navigate to Products → Manufacturer.
  • Verify that all manufacturer terms are translated and saved properly.

2. Set the translation preference

  • Go to WPML → Settings → Custom Fields Translation.
  • Click on “Show system fields”.
  • Locate the field '_manufacturer_slug' and set its translation preference to Copy Once.
  • 3. Edit the original to update the translation

    • Make a small change in the original product (like adding a space after a paragraph) and save.
    • The manufacturer data and related fields will automatically sync to the translation.
