In the past, I had problems translating the strings and other translation plugins are mostly not compatible with WordPress themes. I was also stuck with translation plugins that restrict your capacity to create multilingual, responsive WordPress sites. This all changed after switching to WPML. I love its usability and easy setup as well as its useful dashboard that has everything you need to translate. And you don’t even need to translate it yourself, WPML can automatically translate your content for you. When I discovered WPML, I literally translated everything on my website. Before using WPML, it was a pain to have to access the code to translate complex things. Without WPML, it took me weeks to accomplish the translation. It now takes seconds to complete the task.

I knew about WPML since 2012, or so. Every time a client needs to translate their website, the “manual” road is a bit difficult. However, with WPML, everything works like a charm. WordPress is a bit complicated, but with your plugin, everything is working fine. What makes it different than other multilingual plugins is its adaptability. Years ago, when a multi-national client was looking to translate her very big Press website to Spanish, Portuguese and French, was when I realized how useful WPML is. The market already offers a variety of products and services, but I found the best option through WPML. The main criteria for selection were: A) Implement a simple website translation solution that does not affect both the structure and the performance of the translated website. B)Way to translate both simple pages and posts, as well as WooCommerce products or other more complex implementations. C) Simple interface, easy to manage, both by me and by the client. D) An established company with years of experience. E) Solid support for solving any difficult situation (we were all there once). F) Adaptability. After years of experience in all things WordPress, I can say that I have found WPML to be a reliable partner for translating websites, both personal and those of my clients. Moreover, it offers the possibility of an automatic translation of the website content. From experience, I suggest selecting the DeepL engine for automatic translation with WPML. First, I tried many other translating plugins without satisfying results. I wasted a lot of time. Then, after getting WPML, its professional tools and user-friendly plugin saved me time and I was able to translate my site in no time. After a couple of hours, I had my site completely translated. Before finding out about WPML, managing pages translation and keeping track of who translated what and when was terrible. I even resorted to spreadsheets in an attempt to control and manage translations. In a word, a nightmare. I felt WPML was designed to solve my very specific problems. When I took WPML for a spin and started using it, I was relieved. It gave me full control over my website translation management. For example, just allocating translation jobs to different users was a major task for me and very taxing on my time, and still not efficient enough. It was an ongoing frustration considering we translate from English to 10 other languages. Now I have full control of who does what, when, and how. What used to take hours from my time (managing translators, etc.) I can now do in a few clicks.

Regarding international customers, we have had serious SEO problems. As an agency working in the SEO segment for more than 20 years the most frustrating fact was that we were unable to fix issues regarding the hreflang tags and with that issue, several indexing problems for the different languages. With WPML, that’s now completely solved for all our international SEO customers. As soon as we discovered WPML we started to rebuild our processes for those international SEO customers. As soon as we realized that all the issues and several others regarding the same source were solved our CEO made plans for a nice office party. Nobody will see these pictures, ever. 😀 For our WordPress customers with an international strategy we build rock-solid processes which we surely expand and develop from time to time, but the core hasn’t changed since we started using WPML.

I was using alternative plugins to manage translations and they were not at all stable in terms of updates and support. I was unable to solve issues because the developers had abandoned the plugin updates. On the other hand, WPML is a full-scale translation platform with many settings and options that guarantee a seamless process and adaptability to many types of websites. Everything changed once I switched to WPML and I saw the website and its translations adapt normally. It definitely relieved me of stress.

I was looking for an extension to translate websites. I couldn’t find anything good because the translation extensions I tried weren’t totally working. On the other hand, WPML works with many premium themes. It also supports the multisite configuration and ACF. It is really easy to use for both the admin and translators. It is hands down the best tool for sites with multiple languages. I use it for all my multilingual projects. I’m glad I found an extension like WPML.

Years ago, I was faced with the problem of having to implement translations on professional websites, and the most obvious choice has always been WPML. Before going with WPML it was frustrating to find a reliable solution as I wanted to offer my customers a professional solution. WPML is very complex but extremely robust and reliable. As a Dutch digital agency, we create a lot of digital solutions for our customers and most of them are multilingual. In the past, we had a really hard time translating websites for our customers but with WPML it is much easier. It was a lot of work to translate all of the different pages. WPML has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to translate your website even without technical knowledge. When WPML focused on integrating with ACF it made a difference for us. Customers can translate their websites very easily by themselves because of the good user interface.

The plugin we used before switching to WPML was a mess, and the support wasn’t even remotely as good as WPML’s. At one point, the only solution was to remake the whole website from scratch and copy all the data manually. On the other hand, WPML is easy to use and compatible with almost everything! Any kind of requirements needed for the website can be found in WPML. Even if you can’t find something, simply ask the support and you will get an answer for sure. For example, I had a huge problem with one requirement in a website and it took a lot of searching for a solution. I then contacted support to see if it’s possible they can help me and WOW! They made it like it wasn’t an issue at all, the solution was already there.  Since then, I have 100% trust that whatever the situation is all I gotta do is contact the awesome support. Even if you are using a theme that has an issue with WPML, the support team actually contacts the theme authors to help them make it 100% compatible. This showed me how far the support is willing to go to help their users. Also, I’d like to mention that WPML is the most SEO-friendly multilingual plugin on the market. Finally, it’s just the feeling of trust that no matter what kind of issues I might run into in the future, WPML can solve it.
