This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're experiencing issues with an ACF dynamic image field not working in a WordPress pattern in French, it might be due to compatibility issues.
Solution:
We recommend following these steps:
1. Edit your pattern in the original language.
2. Switch to the WP editor for the translation. This can be done by opening the translation in the WP editor.
3. Reassign the dynamic ACF field and save your changes.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket.

ACF dynamic image field inside wordpress pattern not working in French

Additionally, the titles are not translating (and don't appear in the WPML editor).

This issue is for all patterns with dynamic ACF field images. (Pinterest bloc, Hotel bloc and google map bloc).

Ok thanks.

Please try to translate the pattern and let me know if after that the image appears.

I already tried that, and it doesn't work. That's when I noticed that some titles weren't translating

Hello,

Have you been able to find a solution? I am a bit in a hurry as I cannot let the stagging site up too long as it uses lots of inodes.

Hi there!

Sorry for the delay, in order to send it to the compatibility team, could you please install here the Kandence theme?

That way I can reproduce the issue and send it to the compatibility team so they can find a solution.

Thanks a lot for your collaboration.

Hello, done.

Kadence is a free theme, so it was easy. I also installed the free version of Kadence Blocks. And in the screenshot, you will find the structure I used for the block where both problems appear (title not translating, image not appearing)

If I understand correctly, can I delete the staging site?

You can delete the staging site as we are trying to reproduce the issue on the test site.

I have created that site so you can delete your staging site.

Could you please create a pattern for a post and add only image that is the one having problems?

Please let me know when it is done.

Hi Paola,

I added Kadence Pro and my licence to your test environment.
I created the same pattern as the one on my live site. And connected the image to ACF. (i didn't add links.)

I added the pattern in the test post, and the test image appeared right away in the editor (which isn't the case in my site, I guess, because the articles are much longer)

I updated the translation using the ATE.

I then went to the WPML Translation Dashboard and translated the post pattern. There, I also had the issue that my main title didn't appear (see screenshot). For reference, the title is done using a Kadence adv (txt) bloc.

At that point, the problems are both replicated in the sandbox:

The image is not showing in IT, and the title is in English. (see 2nd screenshot).

Hi there!

I duplicated the site pattern instead of translating it, and the image now appears correctly in the translated version:

Could you please go to WPML → Translation Dashboard, select the site pattern, and choose the Duplicate option instead of Translate?

Once duplicated, the image should also appear in the translation.

Please let me know if this works the same way on your site.

Hi,

I duplicated as instructed, and the image appears. But how do I translate it now? I cannot have an English pattern on a French post.

Hi there!

I have escalated the issue to the compatibility team so they can find a workaround that allows you to translate the template.

I will let you know as soon as I have news.

Hi there!

I got an answer from the compatibility team.

Well since the plugin is not compatible anymore. The easiest solution would be to switch to the WP editor to translate the pattern.

1. Edit your pattern in the origina language: hidden link
2. Switch to the WP editor for the translation: hidden link
3. Open the translation in the WP editor, reassign the dynamic ACF field and save.

Hi,

Which plugin is not compatible anymore? ACF? That's surprising as it is one of the biggest plugins out there.

I can no longer connect to the sandbox, so I've switched to my live website. In my pattern editor, there isn't the WPML switcher.

See screenshot. What should I do?

Hi there!

The one that it is not compatible is Kadence Blocks as you can see here:
https://wpml.org/plugin/kadence-blocks/

As I don´t have access to the staging site, could I have access to your site so I can show you how to do it?

You can access to the sandbox with this link:
