This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client logged into their dashboard and received an alert in Italian indicating a problem with some database tables and suggesting contacting WPML support. The symptom described was a 'MySQL server has gone away' error, which was unexpected as no alerts were anticipated.
Solution:
We recommend the following steps to address the issue:
1. Click the small 'x' icon on the warning message to attempt to remove it.
2. Refresh the dashboard to see if the warning message still appears.
If the message disappears, the system is likely functioning correctly.

Background of the issue:
I just logged in and received an alert on the main dashboard. The Italian text says: 'Abbiamo rilevato un problema con alcune tabelle del database. Per risolverlo, contatta l'assistenza di WPML.' Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
MySQL server has gone away. I expected to see no alert, but instead, I got an alert.

Questions:
How can I resolve the 'MySQL server has gone away' error?
What steps should I take to fix the database table issues?

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

Occasionally, warning messages can appear as false positives and may get stuck. To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

1. Click the small 'x' icon on the warning message to attempt to remove it.
2. Refresh the dashboard to see if the warning message still appears.

If the message disappears, everything is likely in order. If the issue continues, here are a few more steps to check: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/we-have-detected-a-problem-with-some-tables-in-the-database-118/#post-13140103
