This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to remove the development site banner from their website even after marking it as a production site in their WPML account. Additionally, they were concerned about duplicate entries in the WPML account section.
Solution:
We advised the client to remove the old development site key from their WPML account and generate a new production site key for their domain. This can be done by visiting WPML.org > Account > Sites and following the steps to remove and generate keys. After updating the key, it's important to unregister and re-register WPML on the site's backend under Plugins > Add new > Commercial.
It's also crucial to clear any caching on the site or server to ensure changes take effect. This might involve contacting hosting support or clearing caches through any installed caching plugins.
For the issue regarding duplicates in the account section, a separate support ticket was created to address it specifically. You can follow the updates for this issue at this link.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to remove the banner at the bottom of the page on my site hidden link. The banner states 'This site is registered on wpml.org as a development site. Switch to a production site key to remove this banner.' I have already marked the site in my account as not a development site.

Symptoms:
The banner indicating the site is a development site remains visible even after marking it as a production site in my account.

Questions:
How can I remove the development site banner from my site?
Why does the banner remain after marking the site as not a development site?

Hi there.

After you migrate your site to the new domain, you will just need to go to WPML.org > Account > Sites (https://wpml.org/account/sites) > remove the old key (dev key) that you were using on the other domain, and generate a new key for the new domain (production key).

After that, go back to the newly migrated website backend > Plugins > Add new > Commercial and register WPML with the new key (you might need to click "Unregister" first).

IMPORTANT (and probably this is the issue in this case): Sometimes, even after following the steps I mentioned above, you might still see that notice due to existing caching on the site or on the server/CDN (if used).

To clear the server cache, you would need to reach the hosting support.

To clear the site cache, please make sure that you clear/remove it from any existing caching plugin that you might have installed on the site.

I hope that you will find this information helpful!

Kind regards,

Thanks. The banner is now removed.

But now I have duplicates showing in the Account section of WPML

The first one in the screenshot is the one thats active. But it shows no 'ticks' which worries me?!

The third one in the screenshot I think I should remove, but I am worried it will effect the translations on the site (its now a live production site and it took a long time to get WPML working across the site, so I don't want to risk messing anything up)
