Background of the issue:
I am trying to set up my WPML plugin on my website, which is currently under development. I was working with one of your colleagues who said he would move my ticket to a forum support, but I haven't received a response yet. He asked me to back up my website and reactivate my subscription, which I did.

Symptoms:
I can't proceed with setting up WPML without guidance.

Questions:
How do I set up the WPML plugin on my website?
What are the next steps after reactivating my subscription and backing up my website?

You have been inactive for a while so I have converted this chat to ticket and we can continue here as this also might take some time to check.

Please revert your website to a backup you mentioned you have created, and I will check further again, seems something was done wrong or reset was not done correctly or there were some leftovers, as I can still see pages in French even if English as default language.

Also seems your website is a bit slower, I would advise to disable and delete plugins your are not using, you have 45 active which is a lot.

thanks, maybe you have missed my reply in chat.

This is a ticket, and we can continue here, you can see the difference where in chat we talk in same window this more is in a form of replies / emails.

I have checked your website, but I see still same, website still has WPML configured, and it is really slow for me, take me 30s to open each page. Would be good to disable some plugin to speed it up.

Please also restore backup to the point you mentioned in our chat and before WPML configured, and then I can configure WPML again and check further as said I still see same, WPML configured.

No need to add new updates for now — I will get back to you once I am handling this ticket or have some news. Please note that this may take some time.

Regarding the backup, perhaps there was some misunderstanding, or my previous replies were unclear. Could you please restore the website to that backup so I can attempt the WPML configuration and reset again? Alternatively, you may restore it to the point before WPML was configured.

Kindly let me know once this is done, and I will continue from there.

I have been on this support thread for over 3 hours with no workable result. I followed the instructions provided (reset, restore, etc.), but they did not resolve the issue. This was supposed to be live assistance, yet I’m still stuck without a usable configuration.

At this point, please either:
Escalate my case to a senior engineer and provide concrete, step-by-step remediation (not just general directions), or
Confirm that WPML is not compatible with my setup and process a refund (purchase was <24 hours ago), according to your policy.

In order to proceed, I need you to restore your website to a backup , which you mentioned you did, but it is not I still see WPML configured.

Once you have restored, let me know, and I will check further and configure WPML for you so you can continue working.

To clarify the timeline:
Before contacting WPML, I installed and tried to configure WPML myself. That’s why you still see WPML present now.

When your team asked, I provided site access details and confirmed I made a backup.
You’re now asking me to “restore to the backup before this chat,” but there are multiple possible restore points.
Please tell me exactly which one you want:
Option A – Restore to my manual backup taken just before our chat (this will still include my partial WPML setup that I had already started).

Option B – Restore to the closest automatic backup prior to my very first WPML installation (i.e., a clean state with no WPML installed yet).

Option C – I create a staging site from Option A or B, and you configure WPML there first.
Please confirm which option you prefer and the exact date/time of the restore point you want me to use.

Once you confirm, I’ll restore immediately and reply here so you can proceed with the WPML reset and configuration.

If you prefer Option B (clean WordPress without WPML), say so and I’ll restore to the last backup before WPML was ever installed, so you can re-install and configure from scratch.

The email/forum workflow is not working for me, responses feel too slow for something that should be resolved interactively.
