Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate my taxonomy for brands and categories. I expected to see fields to translate.

Symptoms:
Instead, I got a spinner that keeps loading. In the console, I see an error: JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 3.4.1. Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'replace') at n.setLabels (taxonomy-view.js?ver=1.2.4:86:52) at n.render (taxonomy-view.js?ver=1.2.4:168:9) at n.renderNewTaxonomy (taxonomy-view.js?ver=1.2.4:110:9) at p (backbone.min.js?ver=1.6.0:2:3644) at f (backbone.min.js?ver=1.6.0:2:3497) at a (backbone.min.js?ver=1.6.0:2:692) at e.trigger (backbone.min.js?ver=1.6.0:2:3380) at n.processData (taxonomy.js?ver=6.8.2:119:9) at Object.success (taxonomy.js?ver=6.8.2:72:12) at c (load-scripts.php?c=0&load%5Bchunk_0%5D=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,wp-hooks&ver=6.8.2:2:25304)

Questions:
Why does the spinner keep loading when I try to translate my taxonomy?
What does the error 'Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'replace')' mean?

This seems to be related to your beta version that was promoted via email earlier this week.

Hello,

I created a test site, but I can not confirm the issue there in a minimal setup.

One-Click-Login:

This means that the issue on your site might be caused due to a JavaScript issue that is caused by the theme or another plugin.

Could you please create a copy or staging of the website and try running it with a minimal setup to see if the issue persists?

1) Deactivate any additional plugins that are unrelated to WPML and our add-ons.

2) If the issue goes away, start reactivating plugins one at a time or activate them in small groups. This way, check where the issue recurs to identify the plugin causing the issue.

3) If this doesn't resolve the issue, please switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-One to see if the issue might be theme-related.

Once we identify the cause, we can attempt to replicate the issue and then escalate it internally. I will provide a test site with WPML in this case.

If you're unable to set up a copy of your website, please let me know and I'll be happy to assist you.

Best regards,
Andreas

As i mentioned, this seems to be related to your BETA version that was i testing after you promoted it via email earlier this week.

Returning to the production version resolved this; so i'd recommend to check if you can replicate this on the beta versions.

When is the next production version expected?

As I mentioned in my last comment, I already tested the beta version on a test site for which I shared a login token.

The issue does not occur on this test site and must be linked to a third plugin, your theme, or even your child theme.

Do you have a staging site available to run the tests that I mentioned in my last comment?

I am not gonna spend time on testing your beta-versions.
All i know is that returning to the production version resolved the issue; so I am gonna stick with that for now.

If the issue pops back up in a future update I will pick this up again so we can hopefully resolve it.

I can offer to take a local copy of the site for testing, in case you do not have a staging site available.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the website to investigate the issue further.

You can find the required fields below the comments section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.

IMPORTANT
Please be sure to back up your website and database before granting us access.
If you can't see the "wp-admin / FTP" fields, your post and website credentials will be set to "PUBLIC." DO NOT publish the data unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields.

I will need to install a plugin called "All In One WP Migration" to create a copy of the website so I can investigate the issue further.
