This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client wants to display the permalink of the Japanese page in English instead of Japanese characters. Currently, the URL shows Japanese characters, which they want to change to English.
Solution:
First, ensure that the WPML settings are correctly configured to copy the permalink from the original language if the translation language uses encoded URLs. You can check and adjust these settings under WPML->Settings->Page URL. Additionally, set the encoding URL option for Japanese to 'YES' under WPML->Language->Edit Languages.
If there are mixed parts in English and Japanese, you will need to resend the content for translation to ensure all parts are correctly updated.
We also recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

I also created a custom search URL for you so that you can quickly find the existing support tickets that are based on the same topic and that already contain solutions and explanations shared by my colleagues:

This way, you might find the solution faster and we might spend less time on this ticket.

Dear Mihai ,

Thank you for your reply.

I have already configured WPML->Settings->Page URL->Copy from original language if translation language uses encoded URLs

I have changed the encoding URL for Japanese in WPML->Language->Edit Languages->Encode URLs to YES(Japanese, Korean, Chinese)

There are mixed parts in English and Japanese.
Do I need to re-translate (re-update) all the Japanese parts?

Best regards,
an

Hi there.

Yes, you will have to resend the content for translation.
