I'm testing out the AI translation tool. We intend to fully add a new language with it, but before that we want to test it out. The site has a reasonable amount of content and we cannot afford to commit if it can't handle all the fields.

I found that several fields did not update their language when testing it. When I checked the fields' code, wpml_cf_preferences was set to 0. I updated this to "2".

Now I try and repeat the test on my post, I can see that WPML determines that 291 words still need translating. If I alternate between "Leave existing" and "Overwrite existing", the number changes. Indicating that WPML definitely understands that there the content is partially untranslated.

However, I cannot click on the link to proceed without selecting overwrite. If the system recognises the difference between translated and untranslated, surely it should not be considered "already translated"?

When I find the post in the normal list, it says it's awaiting translation

I would appreciate any assistance in this matter
Regards
Chris

Thanks for your patience. Here is the ticket and please share temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Thanks for your patience, and my apologies for the confusion earlier.

I’ve checked your Translation Dashboard and I can confirm that the CPT Application “Decking” has been successfully sent for translation, as shown in the attached screenshot. I’m able to proceed without any issues on my end.

Could you please outline the exact steps you’re following to replicate the issue? It’s possible I may be missing a step, so having the full workflow will help me understand where things might be going wrong. Or even better, if you can provide a screen recording of the issue.

Hello, thanks for your help.

To be honest the problem did change since I opened the ticket. Originally, I was being offered 2 options, update or overwrite. But I could not proceed with "update" as the button was greyed out (see original screenshot)

Now, it's different, there's no option to choose update/overwrite at all. Also the cost is much lower, so not sure if it's going to translate everything.

Well, I tried again and this time it translated everything. So maybe its okay now! I will let you know if it gets stuck again. Thanks for looking
