Background of the issue:
I am trying to allow users with the role Editor to edit posts created with The Events Calendar when WPML CMS is active. See screen recording for more details: hidden link. I have deactivated all other plugins and activated the Twenty Twenty Four theme. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link

Symptoms:
Editors can't edit Event Posts when WPML CMS is activated. The page reloads and throws script errors in the console.

Questions:
Why can't Editors edit Event posts when WPML CMS is active?
What script errors are causing the page to reload?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.

First of all, sorry for the late reply; it was due to a higher workload.

Please log in to this hidden link">sandbox site and create an editor account to replicate the issue.

If the issue is replicable, please let me know how to reproduce it so I can check it and consult our 2nd tier support team.

Best regards,
Osama

I couldn't reproduce the same issue on the sandbox, so I guess there's something unique on my site that is causing the problem. I'll investigate further. (I deactivated Events Calendar Pro since I'm only using the free version).

However, there are JS errors in the console when going to the Events posts (in wp-admin) on your sandbox site, but I can't say that these are related to WPML. The error is not displayed when browsing the Posts or the Pages, only the Events view. The error occurs both for Editors and Admins.

Hi,

1) I didn't see the same JS error while logged in as Admin. (Kindly check the attached screenshots)

2) Could you please check if the issue persists in a minimal environment by following these steps?

1- Deactivate all the plugins except those active ones on the sandbox site (With the same versions).
2- Switch to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty-one.
3- Check the issue.

If the issue is gone, activate them one by one to see which one is causing an interaction issue.

❌ Please backup your database before performing the above test ❌

Best regards,
Osama
