Background of the issue:
I am trying to ensure that when a user accesses the German/English form, the mobile phone number field automatically displays the correct German/English phone number prefix. Additionally, I want all notifications generated from the German/English form to be consistently in German/English. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link

Symptoms:
When a user accesses the German/English form, the mobile phone number field automatically populates with the Romanian country code, not the German/English one. Regardless of the prefix used, submissions from the German/English form consistently trigger notifications in Romanian.

Questions:
Why does the mobile phone number field automatically populate with the Romanian country code instead of the German/English one?
Why are notifications from the German/English form consistently in Romanian?

Hi,

I apologize for the delay in responding. I will take care of this ticket, so the reply time will be shorter now.

I visited the link you shared, and the phone prefix was EN for me.

Anyway, I think the best way to move forward is to reproduce the issue with a minimal setup so we can understand how to translate this from properly.

To do so, I created a clean installation of WordPress, WPForms, WPML, and all necessary WPML add-ons.

You can access the WordPress dashboard using the link below:
hidden link

Kindly follow the steps below:

- Don't restore your site there.
- I noted you have some WPFomrs extensions, install any that are required to see the problem
- Create a form with the form you are using and the notification settings. Try replicating the issue with minimal steps, just the bare minimum to see the problem.

Let me know once it's done and we'll take a look.

Thanks!

Hi,

I made the translations on the sandbox site / Form.
But I can not replicate the issue, because I can not receive email notification from sandbox.
Please enable on your end e-mail notification.
The form is translated you can find it: hidden link

Thank you,

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks!

You are right, it does not send mails (sorry for that). But it has a mail catcher.

I filled the form and checked the email. Please check the screenshot attached, as far as I can see it's in the right language. Or am I missing something?

Best Regards,
Otto

Hi Otto,

Thank you for your reply.
From the notification that you received (from attached image), it seems you received a notification for the German language.
It seems it's working fine.(Sandbox / Form)
To proceed with our issue further, please notice that we are using a WPForm paid version and have activated some add-ons.
Please access the link for our German translated form, from here: hidden link
and fill it out - Please let us know if you receive the notification in German language?
If not, we will send you a temporary admin link, so you can check our back-end.

Thank you,
Sebastian

Hi Otto,

Thanks for getting back to us.

We've tried testing with multiple VPNs, changing our IP addresses to various countries, but we still can't replicate your results. We consistently see that the phone number field changes based on the detected IP address country, which makes sense.

However, we're completely puzzled by why the email notifications are arriving in Romanian, regardless of the form language we select. We've even used different email addresses, cleared all cookies, tried incognito mode, and used different browsers, but the issue persists.

Could you please try testing these forms again:

Specifically, we need to understand why the email notifications are sent in Romanian when we're filling out the forms in German or English. This is the core issue we need to resolve.

Thank you for your help,

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

Please, find attached the screenshots of the mails I've got after filling the forms in both languages.

They seem correct to me, please let me know if I am missing something.

Best Regards,
Otto

Hi Otto,

It seems all is working fine.
We will see what is causing this issue on our side.
Do you have any suggestion what could cause something like this on our side?

Thank you, Otto,

Best regards,

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

I am not aware of the setup you are using to test, so it's hard to tell.

Just a silly comment (which in many cases is the solution 😊): check in different browsers, incognito mode, all the extensions disabled and, if possible, a different email client. Maybe it's being translated externally.
But I am just guessing here... 🙂

I hope you can find the culprit of the problem. Let me know if you need anything else from us.

Best Regards,
Otto
