This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client changed the language string for the portfolio archive page from Lithuanian ('projektai') to English ('projects'), causing an error in displaying portfolio single items. Solution: We resolved the issue by translating the slug via WPML's String Translation tool. After updating the slug, it functioned correctly in both languages. We recommend checking if the portfolio items now work as expected in both languages. If the problem reoccurs, we suggest replacing the .htaccess file with the default WordPress version and resaving the permalinks using the following code:

I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.
❌ Please back up your database and website ❌
✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
I changed the .htaccess file to the WordPress default one, which fixed the issue for a few minutes.
Please try the following test:
1- Deactivate all the plugins except WPML CMS and String Translation.
2- Switch to your parent theme
3- Resave the permalinks
4- Check the portfolio (hidden link)
If the issue is gone, activate them one by one to see which one is causing an interaction issue.
❌ Please back up your database before the above test ❌
