I've had big issues with my multisite installation where the default language is Finnish and in some subsites additional lang English. After updates the calendar lost all its translations and shows now only in English. Do you have any hints how to proceed?

Hi there,

When I visit your site and view the events calendar I can see that some strings are indeed in English.

Please go to WPML->String Translation and search for the strings missing translation, such as "Find Events" and let me know your results.

Do they have the translation in String Translation already? If not, please click to add it and let me know if that works OK.

Hi Bobby, yes the translation is in String Translation already. And even if I change it a bit, it doesn't matter, the site keeps showing the English text.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)

**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **

I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.

NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.

Thank you,
Bobby

Thank you for the access details!

Within WPML -> Languages -> Edit languages the default locale for Finnish was set to fi_FI, per WordPress, this should be 'fi', after changing it and clearing the cache it looks like most of the strings are now showing OK.

Please review and update me with your results.

Hi, I saw some translations for a moment. But now that I updated the eventscalendar again, all the translations vanished. The default locale is still fi. If you would check again what is wrong this time, I would appreciate. Because the updates have to be done every once in a while, this can't happen every time.

Actually, there are some (very few) translations visible, but no logic - at least not for me. For example "Condense Events Series" is translated in String translation fine, but it's not translated in the visible site. And this applies for most of the translations, they are there, but they don't show. So something is definetly very wrong.

Thank you for updating me!

After some research on similar issues, it looks like WP 6.5 has introduced similar behavior.

Please try this and let me know your results:

- Update The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro to their latest versions

---> does that resolve the issue of the missing translations?

- Roll back to WP 6.4.x if possible

Thank you Bobby, I downgraded now the WP. I also resetted the WPML site and started all over. Some translations are visible, but not all. There is no logic to this behaviour IMHO.

For example the search input and button doesn't translate and the week days don't show in proper language even I have translated thursday and friday. They still show "thu" and "fri". Should be "to" and "pe".

Odd.

Thank you for updating me!

From my understanding, this has to do with the latest versions of WP causing this behavior when using the events calendar.

If possible, I would also recommend reaching out to their team as well to see if they can give us some input.

In the meantime, I will further investigate the issue with the remain strings you mentioned and update you.

Hi there,

At the moment which strings are still not showing as expected?

Additionally I have also created a sandbox for us, please review it and let me know if you can reproduce the issue there.
