This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to translate a page on your website using WPML, but instead of seeing the translated page at the expected URL, you are encountering a blank page.
Solution:
First, ensure that the issue is not related to the default language settings, which WPML does not manage. You can verify your default language settings through these links:

If the translation for other trips is working correctly, such as this example, the issue might be specific to the page or its settings. For elements not handled by WPML, such as the hero banner in the default language, you should set them directly in Elementor. You can do this by editing the page in Elementor here: Edit in Elementor.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a page on my website using WPML. The specific page I am working on is hidden link. I expected the translated page to be available at hidden link.

Symptoms:
The translation is not working as expected. Instead of seeing the translated page, I am getting nothing, just a blank page.

Questions:
Why is the translation not appearing on the expected URL?
How can I resolve the issue of the blank page when trying to view the translation?

Hi,

When you open the page in the default language, which status icon is visible for the language flag in the right sidebar?

Best regards,
Marcel

1 - Lanzatourcanarias.com
the plugin is not working at all

[removed by WPML support]

I don't know how to fix this, the whole plugin is not working

2 - Alturistravel.com
3- mygodubai.com

[removed by WPML support]

For these 2, there is a bug i think because there is a long message, and also the content of the trips are not reflecting.
I already told to the plugin WPtravelengine and they said there is a trouble in your plugin

Thanks

ps i didnt create a backup for any website

Hi,

It looks like you’ve accidentally pasted your credentials in a public message. For your safety, I had already enabled a private input field where you can securely share such information. Credentials submitted there are automatically deleted from our system once the ticket is marked as resolved.

Please do the following:

Use the private input field to share your credentials.

In the same field, confirm that a backup exists and that you’ve accepted the disclaimer.
We’re unable to access your site without a backup in place, as there’s always a small risk something could break during troubleshooting.

Let’s first focus on the first website, as it’s likely a separate issue. Currently, we don’t have any reports of a widespread problem affecting multiple sites. However, if all your sites are hosted on the same server, please let me know—this could point to a missing PHP library or another server-wide issue.

Thanks for your understanding!

Best regards,
Marcel

Hi,

thanks for the access. The website access you provided does not match the example you shared in your initial response. However, based on the screenshot, the issue seems to be the one described here:
https://wpml.org/errata/php-fatal-error-uncaught-invalidargumentexception-argument-language_code-must-be-a-non-empty-string/

As you can see on hidden link, no default language is defined. You can use the "Add" button to add the needed language as your default site language.

Best Regards,
Marcel

I have 3 websites and all are giving me problems, i opened a ticket for each one.

- Lanzatour Canarias, is giving me worse problems now.

" There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.

The 2 other websites have issues with the plugin wptravelengine. I can't translate the tours and the translation of the tour is not showing.

Hi,

I noticed you’ve added the new language in WPML ( hidden link ), but the default language still hasn’t been set. As soon as you choose one, it will appear in bold—for example, English (default).

Once that’s done, we can open a new ticket to look into the WP Travel Engine issue.

Marcel

Hi

I deleted the plugin and i checked. The language english by default was selected.
I uploaded the plugin again and i idnt find the language anymore.
I tried everything and i dont find the issue and where to fix this. I am losing so much work because any on my 3 websites are working so i had to stop all promotions on social media.
This one is not working at all. And the 2 others ones have the problem of content translation. Please tell me where can be the error or if you know how to change the language by default help me. Thanks

Hi,

deleting the plugin isn’t necessary and wouldn’t fix the issue—the default language just hadn’t been set. I’ve now configured it using the “Change default language” button. English is correctly shown as “English (default).”

Can you confirm the page hidden link is now working correctly?

Best regards,
Marcel

Hi,

The acces i gave you is for Lanzatour Canarias. And no it's still not working. You can do it yourself when you click hidden link

Alturis travel and MygoDubai are 2 other websites where wpml is working for all pages but not for trips. So no, hidden link this trip and all others trips are not working.

For now, let’s focus exclusively on hidden link. Bringing other sites into the discussion at this stage will only slow things down and add confusion.

Current status:

A fatal error appeared when opening the Pages screen in the back-end (hidden link) because no content was assigned. I temporarily deactivated and reactivated WPML; the front-end at hidden link is now loading correctly.

Before we move on to the other sites, could you confirm that everything on hidden link looks good on your end?

So the problem was as previously described, that in the WPML settings the default language was unassigned and not re-activated.

Best regards,
Marcel

Thank you
Apparently it's working. But there is an issue with WPtravelengine plugin. Now i lost the categories and the destinations. And it's not working anymore.
Even for home page i lost the banner hero.
The trips content can't be translated. and this is the problem in the other websites also,
